- Mixed Doubles Ladder Rules | Maple Leaf Tennis
Mixed Doubles Ladder Rules The Mixed ladder is encouraging tennis players of all levels to participate. Interested players should form a mixed team of a female and a male tennis member. Please register as a team either online using Court Reserve or via email to the coordinator. The schedule will consist of three week sessions beginning in November. We will be using the same format for the Mixed Doubles ladder and Mixed Doubles Championship as we did last year. The ladder is set up to allow all mixed doubles teams to prepare for the Mixed Doubles Championship which will start on January 23, 2027. It will consist of 1 session starting on November 21, 2026 and ending on January 16, 2027. You can play with the same partner or a different partner in the Mixed Doubles Championship in January. Registration is set up on Court Reserve so when it opens please register you and your partner at the same time for the first session. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all on the tennis courts!! Mixed Doubles Ladder dates: Nov 21, 28, Dec 5, 12, 19, Jan 2, 9, and 16 Mixed Doubles Championship starts on Jan 23 and goes through every Saturday through March 13. Times and Location: Saturday Afternoon from 2pm to 6pm at the Can Am Courts. One hour matches will be scheduled each hour. Teams must consult the schedule to determine the time for their match. Set Up: The ladder runs for 8 weeks in the first session. A set consists of 11 points or total score after 1 hour, whichever comes first. The one hour includes warm up time. The number of games won during the 1 hour period is your score. Winners must record the scores each week on the posted schedule at the Charlotte court’s bulletin board. Points are accumulated per team over the 8 week session. Teams: Teams are drawn up according to approximate skill levels and placed in the A flight or B flight. It is recommended that the teams take turns bringing a new set of balls for play. You can register with a partner for the Mixed Doubles ladder championship any time before the start of the championship which is Jan. 23, 2027. General Rules: All players must be members of the Tennis Club. No subs are allowed since you have 9 weeks to do any makeups that occur due to weather or you not being available on a certain Saturday. If someone is injured and cannot complete the rest of the matches, you can then get a replacement of equal skill level. But, you must consult with me who that replacement is going to be before you play your next match in the championship. If you know that you are not available on certain Saturdays, communicate with your opponents and do the match any time before or after the scheduled Saturday on any day of the week you both agree on. Top of Page Women's Open Men's Open Mixed Open Novice Open Untitled Members' Round-Robin Open Play Description At open-play doubles - also known as round-robin or drop-in - individual players rotate through the doubles positions: you don't need a partner; you can come for a few games or stay for the whole session. Just add your racquet to the line! There are open sessions for women's, men's and mixed doubles (including novice mixed doubles). Who Can Play The round-robin open-play sessions are for tennis-club members, as well as their occasional guests.
