Peace River Senior Men's Tennis League About The Maple Leaf Tennis Clubs fields teams most divisions in the Peace River Senior Men's Tennis League . The PRSTL consists of multiple divisions that allows players of similar abilities to play against competitive teams (using the ALTA ranking system ). Ball Machine The Tennis Club purchased a Playmate AC E commercial-grade tennis-ball machine in December of 2025. Use of the ball machine is restricted to Maple Leaf Tennis Club members who have been taught how to use the machine safely. As of December, 2025, anyone using the machine must have received training - not just those who are in charge of a session Training Contact Jeff Papiez (see below) to sign up and participate in a ball machine operation training session. If you experience any problems with the machine, do not attempt to fix it or retrieve balls from within the mechanics of the ball machine. Immediately report issue to Jeff Papiez. The Pro Am Invitational will be held Sunday February 20 at 2 PM at the Can Am courts. Dinner: 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the Sun Deck with the option of eating there or taking it home (pickup at 4:30pm). Menu: Pulled chicken with Hawaiian Rolls, baked beans, coleslaw, condiments (Ketchup, BBQ, etc..) and a jumbo chocolate chip cookie - catered by our Country Club Price: $15.00. If there is still available space, dinner tickets will be made available to the residents of Maple Leaf.

Membership Anyone wishing to participate in the Club’s organized tennis programs - including ladders, tournaments and open play -or in regional-league teams must have a current annual or monthly membership. The modest membership fee is payable to the Treasurer at the start of each tennis season or on arrival in the park. The fee covers the costs of running tournaments, part of some social events, and court upkeep. Social memberships allow non-playing members to attend social events (wine and cheese, Christmas social, pot luck, etc.). New-Member Mentoring Program If you are a new member and want to know more about play and partners and social events and volunteering, you might be interested in Mentoring Program . CourtReserve & Membership Payments As of the start of the 2026 / 2027 season, members with CourtReserve membership from previous years will have their accounts re-activated once payment has been submitted. New Tennis Player Membership Mentoring Program New Members to the tennis club are welcome to make use of the Mentoring Program. Just request a mentor (Item C) to introduce you to the various opportunities offered by the club. Many thanks to those who have offered to mentor new members to our tennis club. A. Mentoring System: It will be the duty of the Membership Director to assure that the system is continued each year. Each year the Membership Director will solicit for volunteer mentors within the current club membership. The Membership Director will explain the mentoring duties to the volunteers and assign one mentor to each new couple or each single member from the list provided. The instructors for Taste of Tennis will communicate with the Membership Director the names of introductory tennis players who have expressed an interest in being paired with a mentor. B. Duties of a Mentor: Once given the name of the new member, make personal contact with the new member to be mentored. Explain that you will be available to this member for any explanation or advice on any of the tennis activities that the new member requires during the year. Explain the scheduling board, the court registering process and all the activities that are posted. Explain the social and tournament structure and how to get involved. Attend a few events with them to introduce them and help integrate them into the club. Explain what is available with regards to instruction for skill improvement. Explain the bulletin boards, website, and any other means of communication. Go through the Men’s and Ladies competitive team structure and the process for joining a team. Give them a list of individuals to contact for specifics. If you find that there is something you cannot explain, direct them to the right person, or better still, contact that person for them. Leave them your phone number as a contact whenever they have questions. Make sure that the new members feel comfortable and welcome in all activities of the club. C.
